National Volunteer Week

2020NVW2Greetings,

National Volunteer Week is April 19th to 25th, and as everyone knows the Grande Prairie Volunteer Services Bureau (GPVSB) will not be hosting our Annual Volunteer Celebration at this time due to COVID-19.  But it is NATIONAL VOLUNTEER WEEK and more than ever we need to celebrate & recognize the importance of volunteers and all the good they do for our community.

Attention all Kindergarten to Grade 7 Students the Volunteer Search has been extended until May 29th in Grande Prairie!

The GPVSB encourages families to celebrate Community Volunteers while practicing Social Distancing by entering our Volunteer Search Contest!  Print off the Volunteer Search Form and  have an adult safely drive around Grande Prairie neighbourhoods while looking for “I Volunteer At _______”    decals. There will be a Gift Card prize for the child who finds the most stickers as well as a draw for all other participants!

If you are also a volunteer in the community and would like a sticker to participate these stickers will be available in our foyer for pickup during our business hours. The first door of our main entrance will be unlocked and we will disinfect surfaces between pickups. All you need to do is write the name of the organization you volunteer for and place it in a prominent location that can be seen from a road or sidewalk (a car, front window, vehicle, mailbox, business window etc.). Volunteers unable to pick up stickers can print the "I Volunteer At" sign by clicking here, or decorate your windows with your own Volunteer art, share your signs or window art with us @gpvsb on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram or email your pictures to This email address is being protected from spambots. Search Forms are due May 29th, 2020 at Noon.

Also GPVSB will be launching a Grande Prairie National Volunteer Week Celebration Website and we ask Organizations who utilize volunteers to send us a thank you message to their amazing volunteer groups, so we may share them with the community.   We encourage all non-profits and charities to send a Thank You Letter or a short 30 second Thank You Video and help us not only recognize National Volunteer Week but share something positive in this trying time.

Please, send your Volunteer Thank You Messages to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
